At the Memorial Park location, (Mon. And Thurs.) a few of my favorite vendors aren't there. Some go to the Colorado City Market on Sat. but I can't go on Sat. Waaaah! If you go there and know Hanagan's, tell them one of their regulars is brokenhearted. Be sure to try their Rocky Ford Melons as they live right there where the actual magical soil is. A "Rocky Ford melon" is a counterfeit unless it is grown there. (Get Israel to pick you out some good ones, he can tell just by looking at them.) They also grow heavenly eggplant, it is creamy if you can imagine such a thing. Out of this world. Looks like I'll have to make a drive down there this year, I learned one can blanch and freeze slices of eggplant if one plans to freeze it. While I'm there, I'm going to load up a bunch of buckets of dirt so I can have my own melon and eggplant patch in my yard. Anyway, if you run into Hanagan's farms vendors, tell them I'm being left out. Thanx! Good green beans at Spencer's again, the Blue Lakes are prime. The tomatoes are not as good as before but still juicy and tart, a far cry from what you get in the grocery. They are all set up to roast chilis but haven't started yet. If anyone is interested, I'll post it here when they start up. They are most reasonable, the chilis are roasted just right and they always give you more chilis than their competitors. They roast 4 different varieties. Spencers is on the south side, Tejon at Brookside under huge cottenwood trees. Turn in between the ski shop and the garden supply and drive back to the alley where you will see the produce being sold. I don't have anything to do with the business, I'm a loyal customer that lives real close.
