Spam Hater (spamh8@kktv.com) said something like: : Is this more common that we think or is it still rare? Only twice have I encountered this in any way: 1987, while driving part-time for Domino's. Management would gripe about dirty or junky cars, but wouldn't do much more. True story: My car was brand new then, a bright-red 87 CRX Si. One day, while working a busy football Sunday, I rushed in to grab my next order. Frank Meeks, the head cheese of the DC area for Dominos, was making one of his regular surprise visits. I'm parked illegally right at the curb outside the store. Frank is helping take orders. He looks up, sees my car. "Everybody, your attention please!" he shouts. "I want everybody to look at that red car out front." "Oh shit," I think to myself. "Who's car is that?" he asks. "Um. Mine." I respond meekly (so to speak). "See that car? See how clean and nice it is? That Domino's sign looks GOOD on top of that car, doesn't it? That's the sort of positive image that Domino's should convey." and with that he picks up the phone to take another order, and we all went back to work. I quit two weeks later. But man, that felt good (Frank drove a Ferrari, btw). The only other time management has commented on my choice of cars was when I rated a company car for a while; it had to be a Ford (because of company leasing arrangements) and had to be a sedan. Most of the other manager's at my level chose Tauruses, er, Tauri; I went for a Contour SE... I think your boss is talking out of the wrong orifice. -- > B E N T L E Y < bentley AT digex DOT net A long frisbee throw from the pungent and lovely Potomac River www.access.digex.net/~bentley/remove-this-bot-blocking-part
