In one way it is a good thing. I got a 2.5 gig drive for less than $400.00. You can't get mac drives as cheaply as the IBM drives. But the data recovery problems look to be very challenging to me. Now, what I don't understand is that before the crash, Nortons did see the drive and could work on it. So could Scsi Probe. But after the crash, even though the drive still could begin a start up process, nothing could see it in the scsi chain. So, I don't understand that and why I can't find some utility that can see it. Obviously, every Performa user has this potential problem. Someone must have run into it before me, so there should be some history to the situation and a solution out there as well. Bob
