Alan, thanks for the info on your business. I will look it over and get back to you. As for your Destiny posting, I think you overlooked something. In the media, you are "guilty until proven innocent". The false reporting of Destiny being a scam was the work of a fired employee. He was able to do a lot of damage and cause problems for the hundreds of thousands of customers of Destiny. I think anytime we use the media--yes, we can all be reporters now--thanks to the internet, we have an obligation to show both sides of the news. Otherwise, we give up our integrity. Your points on spotting a legit MLM were good. They define Destiny exactly. Take a look. 1. The difference between a pyramid scheme and a multilevel marketing plan is that the latter must involve the retail sale of a product which consumers can buy without also joining the marketing scheme. Destiny markets many products and services. It's most popular is the collectible phone card. You can buy any of Destiny's products without ever selling for them. 2. Take time to consider your investment before signing anything or giving someone your money. Destiny reps SCREEN people before ALLOWING them to become reps. That is only common sense. Who wants a downline of people who are not helping the company grow? 3. Ask questions about the company and its officers, the products, their cost, fair market value, source of supply and the potential market in your area. Any Destiny rep will give DETAILED info on the company. 4. Ask about start up fees, required purchases and about the company's policy on the buy-back of required purchases. You can get in Destiny for $100.00, you are not required to buy anything, ever. You get a 5 hour phone card for the $100.00 and you have 30 days to change your mind. 5. Inquire about the average earnings of active distributors. Destiny has LIVE CONFERENCE call Sun, Mon, Tue, Wed, and Thur nights from 9:55 to 10:30, Eastern. 1-916-689-8915 or 1-916-689-9090. You can hear from reps all over the nation. 6. Get written copies of all available company literature. Destiny gives out reams of it. 7. Consult with others who have had experience with the company and its products. Call 1-770-592-3303, leave your name, number and a time to call. I will send you all the info you want on Destiny. 8. Check to see if the products are actually being sold to consumers. Destiny has over a half million reps and will have over a million before the year is up. Millions will buy Destiny products and services this year alone. 9. Try to determine whether these would be a market for the product if the multi-level marketing structure did not exist. There already was, and still is a market for collectible phone cards and long distance services. 10. Verify all information; do not assume that official looking documents are either accurate or complete. Destiny reps are the most ethical sales people I have ever met. Come to the Waverly Hotel in Atlanta on March 15, 1997 and meet a lot of them. If you really think you are innocent until proven guilty Alan, what if I decide I do not want you to be a competitor? What if I told the DA your business was a scam and they raided you. What if I posted bad news-that was false-about your business all over the internet. You would still be innocent, but your business would still suffer damage, and your efforts to prosecute me would not repair it much would it? That is the power of false claims and negative reporting. I appreciate that your intention was to alert people, but I think a man of integrity also has a duty to follow up with the truth.
