I hope someone noticed that I had been gone for awhile. Here's the scoop: A few weeks ago Tom upgraded my Performa from 8 megs to 20. I was a very grateful camper. A few days later, while working on a big project with a lot of graphics, my Performa crashed. When I would try to start up again, the smiley face would come on and stick there. Nothing else could access the Performa-Startup CD, Zip Drive, hard drives. Tom was on vacation...Tom should not be allowed to go on vacations. So I went to Fry's and bought a new hard drive. It wouldn't fit or work. Found out there is a type of Drive called a differential drive. It can't be the ID or last drive in the daisy chain. So, I went back and to exchange it. I went through about 5 drives and a 45 minute wait before I got one that would work. Tom put it in and it does work fine, but we can't access my original Apple Drive. The Apple Drive is an AT ID drive, not a Scuzzy drive, so we couldn't use anything like scummy Probe to work on it. Now I am trying to find a guy who can work on drives. CompUSA can't do it. Anyone know where Rick Schultz is in CO? Bob
