Well, this is the kind of responsible system administrator attitude
I like to see! Do you _really_ believe that it is appropriate for a SysAdmin
to "mail-fry" anyone, for whatever reason? With authority comes responsibility:
SysAdmins have a _greater_ responsibility to behave with decorum than the
average user.

It's attitudes and actions like the above that prompts "twerps" to
complain about their local administrators.

I suppose I probably could've been more delicate in my wording; we all
get in strange moods (especially on a balmy Sunday afternoon).

Not too get you guys off the subject, but there are a lot of us out here who are sys admins for industries, and this forum looks (looked?) like it could be interesting. I realize that there are a lot of educational facilities out there, but lets not single out students (and university administrators) as the only
ones who read these here newgroups.....

Well then, by all means contribute! As far as I know this newsgoup hasn't
been here more than a week or two, and just because there has been a lot of
educational traffic you shouldn't keep yourself silent if you have
something interesting to say. I hear tell that commercial sites can have
their educational value as well.

P.S. I am not a system administrator, and never have been. But I do have
an incurable habit of posting to USENET.

Yes, there are quite a few corporate sites....

I like to see people on from the .mil and .gov sites, though most of them seem
fairly reclusive, especially in comparison to the .edu's. Their sysadmins
must have some interesting stories to tell, though.

[For those who think .gov sites don't have any fun, read Cliff Stoll's book,
"The Cuckoo's Egg." :)]

I'm in favour of hearing anything the BellCoRe gang has to tell :)
