WordLinx OCR / Word97 / Win95

Hi!

If you know of a newsgroup better suited for this problem please notify
me...

I have been using WordLinx with Word 6/Win 3.11 for some time. Now I
have switched to a Win95 system with Word97 and the WinWord macros
calling WordLinx no longer work. The converted VBA code stops at a line
calling tpudll.dll with no error message. Can it be that I need a 32bit
dll? And where could I get it? Or does anyone have another idea...

Is there an OCR freeware system that works as well as WordLinx (not very
difficult) or even better?

Thanks for any assistance,
Wolfgang Hutter <><

I don't mean to offend by stating the obvious but... is the tpudll.dll
in the Win95 directory or is it still hanging around in win31 directory.

A Win95 alternative for wordlinx is Finereader 3.0 from Bitsoft. Trial
version is available somewhere at www.glasnet.ru (6MB). It can scan
directly into Word (that's how I use it with a Microtek 6E scanner).
