The glider of Life Game was proved as a universal Turing computer, a
necessary condition for all forms of life. Nonetheless, it is still only a
game. It lacks the essence of any biological life, the mass.
If the glider is a graphic representation of some basic building blocks of
matter (such as: proton or neutron), then Life (game) will give rise to
biological life immediately. When glider captures mass, it turns into a
wet stuff, the biological life.
My Voice is an online interactive journal on the World Wide web. We
recently received some articles which claim that glider is, indeed, the
graphic representation of proton.
We are unable to judge the validity of those papers. So, we published them
online and are asking the entire world to review them. You can find them
on web site, (http://www.society-of-toe.org).

Being yuring complete has nothing to do with life. (OK, except for the
game of life)
This is off topic for comp.sys.cbm, please note folowups.....

It lacks the essence of any biological life, the mass. It depends on how you view mass; since matter is simply another form of energy, and the glider consists of energy, the two forms of life are, perhaps, not so different. No, I do not believe that a glider is "alive" in the biological sense; however, it demonstrates the essence of life by showing that complex behavior arises from simple rules. A sufficiently complex automata would exhibit the characteristics of a living thing. -- <Scott Robert Ladd> srladd@frontier.net Visit http://www.frontier.net/~srladd, home of ALife Central and Insight/Java
