Hi, I am looking for information on applications of AI technologies such as fuzzy logic, learning algorithms, expert systems, neural networks and genetic algorithms to various aspects of Project Planning and management, like task classification, scheduling under multiple constraints of resource, material and time. Can AI techniques offer better (optimal) results under dynamic conditions such as abrupt changes in resource availability or deliverables or time constraints ? Especially interesting would be techniques that incorporate learning from historical data or learning by example. How does the experience of the US industry in this area compare with that of the Japanese and Europeans. What is the relative prominece of this area across various sectors of industry viz., defense, space, auto, banking, health care etc. I would appreciate any pointers on this topic to books, journals, available software (any platform). Even better would be personal experience (from academics or industry). Apart from theoretical and algorithmic issues, what are the bussiness issues such as cost-benefit, organizational aspects, reliability, usability and so on. Could you please respond by email. I will post a summary. This could also evolve into an FAQ on AI in Project Management, unless one already exists. Thanks much in advance. - Suresh -- ----------------------------------------------------------------- Suresh Krishnajois (Him) Devaki Krishnajois (Her) sujo@netcom.com ----------------------------------------------------------------- "Do not accept unacceptable behaviour" - H.J.B, Jr. "Endless compromise shatters the illusion of integrity" - J.C.
