Try doing "Save As..." and setting the file type to text (use the options
button to get at that).  This will save the values as tab delimited text.

: In MS Works there is a command called "Paste Special..." (spreadsheet, 
: Edit menu).  In Excel "Clear..." (Edit menu) looks a bit similar but
: clearing formulae clears the results as well.  Grrrr!

"Clear..." is used for just that, clearing fields.  "Paste Special..." can
be used to paste the values only (i.e. no formulas) into another worksheet.
This won't help you get into Word, unless you want to:
	 1) select range of interest
	 2) copy
	 3) go to a blank space or new worksheet
	 4) select "Paste Special..." values
	 5) copy
	 6) go to Word and paste
Depending on what you're doing either this approach or the save as 
approach will do the job.
