I am designing a small planning application with excel. It is intended to
help people to survey their various tasks, their deadlines, the use of
their ressources and so on. To do this I absolutely need some way of
indirect addressing of cells. Indirect adressing is a very common concept
of programming in "classical" languages like Pascal, C and so on. I will
however be clearer for people who never used some of these languages: I need
a way to read and write cells whose address is the content of a given cell,
and which may be the result of a calculation.
I am already able to do this to READ a cell, with the functions
INDIRECT and ADDRESS. I however don't know how to select a cell whose
address is the content of a cell, in order to write in it. I have
tried several things, of the general form "SELECT(INDIRECT.." or
"SELECT(CELL("content",<adr>.." and so on. None of them is however
working. Without this tool, this application becomes useless because
almost everything has to be done at hand.
Does anybody have a solution to this problem?
