I'm trying to count days from a specific date. I use cell B1 as the TODAY() cell, and A1 as the date cell. The formula in B1 is =TODAY -A1 B1 shows 36402 for August 30th 1999 with no data in A1 - OK If I enter a numeric value in A1, (ie 122345) fine, B1 shows a reduced number of days. However if I input a date in date format - I.e. 20/08/99, B1 shows #VALUE. Ive tried inputting the date in every conceivable format but it still shows #VALUE Ive changed the date format in Windows, but still the same, what am I doing wrong? Why? I've alsotried reformatting the A1 cell with no effect.
