I'm a novice spreadsheet user. I'd like to know from the people reading this group which spreadsheet is best suited for report generation and file linking. For example, if it were to be used to analyze financial data of 5000+ entities, where a report would need to be generated from a collection of spreadsheet files, and fields added and deleted as needed, the file linkage could be several levels deep, for example : a set of spreadsheets with quaterly balance sheet info one spreasheet with daily info one spreadsheet with textual data All the above would be "tables" of sorts. Similar setups can be conceived for medical data processing as well. Maybe the thing to use is really a database package, but with all the superlative releases of excel, foxpro, lotus etc, I'm sure where the technology stands. -- -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "These views are my own. / Mail me or Flame me" >@)
