Print to DOS from QuattroPro for Windows?

In Quattro Pro for DOS, it was possible to mark a block and print it
to an ASCII file. I now have QuattroPro for Windows, and find that
this seems not to be an option any more. Does anyone know for sure? If
it can be done, how??

Thanks,

Randy Jackson

Try this: Block what you what to go to a file and then choose:

		File|Printer Setup|Redirect to File

That does it for me. Good Luck.

The easiest way to solve that problem is to install the "generic/text only"
printer driver from Windows Control Panel. When you set up the driver,
make sure to set it's port to "FILE:".

What this does is print the block to a binary prn file, that can then
be "copied" to the printer. This is not the objective. What I want
is a formated, ascii file, complete with hard spaces, so that I can
import to a WordPerfect file without having to futz around with column
alignment.

Redirecting to a file doesn't serve this purpose.

Sorry about that. As somebody else also mentioned, you need to set your
current printer as *Generic / Text Only on LPT1:*. Then do the redirect to
file. Also, another way to do it (which might be easier) is to
enable the Quattro Pro for DOS menus. That is, when you hit the */* key it
will bring up the QPro for DOS menu. Then choose Print, Block you want,
Destination (Choose file and then the name), then spreadsheet print. I hope
that will work for you.
