I have tried to reply directly but the address seems "unknown" so I
will use the list. This was my reply:
Shauna,
In the more current version 1.1b of wingz printing postscript to a
file is an option in the print menu. However, as we (like you) are
running an earlier version, we have had to 'hack' our own solution.
In your printer.info file on the second line you specify the LpCommand.
Usually this is lpr or lp. In our case we have modified this to read:
LpCommand "wingzlpr"
where wingzlpr is a script (which is included below). In addition we
have added a "pseudo"printer in this file. The entry reads:
Postscript B&W Printer Name "Print to File"
Total Fonts 35
... (here comes the font info which I have deleted)
As a result, "Print to File" will pop up as a valid printername.
Now the wingzlpr script will reckognize this name and use xprompt to
prompt the user for a file name to put the postscript on. You may chose
another (like the new xtpanel, the filenominator utility shipped with
the aXe editor or similar).
If you have any further questions - please call on me again. We run SUN
4.1 and hp-ux 8.01 so if you want executables that is what I can provide.
