Thanx again for the insight Mr. Lim, but Lotus has just raised thier licensing costs. Check your invoices for a ten user license and the 4 user upgrade packs. They have more than doubled. I forgot to mention a product called Exclaim from QSP, it is essentially Lotus/Excell/Quattro pro all rolled into an X interface. I havent used it but I had used thier previous Lotus clone called Qcalc which was a Lotus 2.01 clone, it wasnt bad, it had all the driver support tools for printing and terminals. We had migrated from Qcalc on a 3b2 to Lotus on 386 Unix. I owe this one to the QSP people to at least mention thier products. One Lotus Clone I do not recommend is Twin for Unix - it really sucked! For those tuning in late we do not necessariliy mean to antagonize any one vendor about not having a Unix product, but if we could draw Lotus to reply it would be a weanie roast. --- Note to hmmmm? forgot his name now, there was a note in my mail about configuration tools. Yes, there are a lot of sites who may not be as technical as ours, but if one considers Unix on a scale such as ours than having a staff of four people to support 1200 users is much better investment that the 50 it takes to support our MVS boxes for the same number of users. And since I am on the net it makes it easier for those who dont have great unix skills to hire me for some of those $$$$$ things. Ok ill shut up for a few days now. -- =============================================================================== John Allen - Network Executive E-mail: jallen@standard.com Network Services Telephone: (503) 243-6189 Standard Insurance, Portland Oregon FAX: (503) 321-3313
