The hardware design failures of the StorageWorks, as discovered by
CRN during their testing of a couple of the DEC RAIDs, were documented
in a hardhitting story in CRN three or four weeks ago.  A DEC engineer
posted their action plan regarding their planned fixes.  Perhaps it is
time for an update on this.  The original postings seem to have expired
here.  Reprints of the CRN article are probably available by Emailing them
at crnfeedback@mcimail.com  The email address of the particular editor who
wrote the story appears to be jshore@cm.cmp.com
