Announcing SS'93, Canada's seventh annual high performance computing
conference and exhibition, sponsored by Supercomputing Canada
(Super*Can).

Rapid technological advances are changing the economics of computing.
Feasibility thresholds are shifting; new problems can be economically
tackled, more reliable results can be obtained, leading to more
efficient operations and increased competitiveness.

WHO WILL ATTEND?

  * HPC power users from the sciences, engineering and social sciences
  * Researchers from industry and academia
  * Hardware and software developers
  * Hardware and software vendors
  * Communication and information technology professionals
  * Managers of HPC facilities
  * Government agencies.

  * Professional associations. 

Separate sessions for vendor presentations, demonstrations and 
discussions will be organized at the conference.

CALL FOR PAPERS/PROPOSALS

You are invited to participate actively in this event. Please submit 
technical papers on the following topics: 

  * Applications of High Performance Computing in the energy industry,
    in aerospace, chemical modelling, earth sciences and the
    environment, in engineering, image processing, financial
    forecasting and others
  * Connectivity and networking 
  * Visualization as a tool for analysis and communication
  * Developments in vector technologies
  * Workstations and clusters
  * Parallel architectures, including compiler and software development
  * Other topics relevant to high performance computing.

We are also encouraging proposals for debates, demonstrations and 
innovative sessions to address the issues surrounding new horizons 
in high performance computing. 

Submit paper abstracts and proposals no later than February 1, 1993 to:

Authors will be notified by March 1, 1993. 

For publication in the Symposium proceedings, a copy of the 
complete manuscript will be needed for review by May 1, 1993.
