The School of Information Studies at the University of
Technology, Sydney currently offers three subjects which
introduce technologies applied in professional information
practice and business.
We are interested in examining low cost strategies which can
be used to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of
teaching in these subjects.
Our core objectives are:-
1) To develop a broad awareness of the diversity of the
general purpose software available.
2) To develop an awareness of the computer-assisted learning
packages available to assist in teaching/learning of selected
applications.
We are seeking your assistance with the following:-
(1) a. Assistance in identifying general purpose shareware
and public domain software available on the Internet. The
categories of software are word processing, spreadsheets,
hypertext, graphics, desk-top publishing, library automation
software and office automation software.
b. We are interested in identifying computer assisted
learning packages identified with the above.
(2) Assistance with terms that might be used for searching
ARCHIE to identify sites that may archive the sort of software
we are seeking.
