Users of this machine should be aware that this archie
currently serves much of Europe and also handles other
tasks, as well. Given the magnitude of the task, I'd
suggest that its response is quite understandable.

Still, help is on the way in that since we anounced
licensed support for archie a number of additional
European sites have signed on and should be running
supported archies in the new year. 

FYI, we are also finishing up changes to the telnet client
that will ship with the system (not the p.d. version
available on the net, but the one you speak to when you
telnet to "archie.wherever") that will allow support of 8
bit character sets and easy replacement of the on-line help
and other text. This obviously will make it much easier to
offer additional language support. We expect a
French-language archie to be on-line in January or so, and
other may follow.  (heck, Bunyip will even arrange
translations ourselves, for a suitable fee..  :-)
