It is excactly the same price PKWARE asks for PKZIP 1.10. And if
you have registered PKZIP 1.10 the new release is free. If you have
registered an older version of the software you only pay $8.

The major (and nowadays about the only) advantage of the program is
speed. This is unmatched by other released programs. For just good
compression, portability, options etc products like InfoZIP, LHA,
ZOO and ARJ all have there qualities as well.

Why should they. InfoZIP is 101% (serious) PKZIP 2.04c compatible
and is free and available for non MS-DOS systems as well.
