Frisk's VIRSTOP

Does anyone have any experience of using MARK/RELEASE to remove F-PROT's
VIRSTOP program from memory? (I need to free as much memory as possible
when accessing the net!) Last time I experimented with MARK/RELEASE (with
Smartdrv) I completely trashed my hard drive's FAT, and I'd rather seek
advice before trying again. Alternatively, is there a hidden (or
forthcoming?) command line switch to uninstall?

PS: Don't tell me to use McAfee's VSHIELD because I plan to register
whatever product I use and I can't afford that! But if there are any
other comparable products with an uninstall switch I'd be interested to
know.

PPS: Am I right in thinking that since the TSR is attached to the load-
and-run interupt function, that the stuff I download from the net isn't
being checked and (consequently) slowed down?

Mark.
