Archive-name: auto/alt.irc/New-version-of-the-VMS-client

Well, after a long break, I've released some patches for the VMS IRC
client...fixed a lot of relatively minor bugs, the details of which are in the
readme file. The only new feature is that the "/who *" command now lists the
users on the current channel, rather than the channel which you joined last.

The client can currently only be ftp'd from coombs.anu.edu.au
(/pub/irc/vms/irc173.*) and nic.funet.fi (/pub/vms/incoming), as I couldn't
find any US ftp sites to put it on. Could the administrators of sites such as
csd.bu.edu, ftp.eff.org, wiretap.spies.com and freebie.engin.umich.edu please
putt a copy of the new version on their systems, and let me know about it.
Keep in mind that the .com and .readme files are ASCII text, and the .exe and
.lzs files are binary.

Also, for those who are interested in the client, I am creating a distribution
list for notices about new version, bugs, etc in the client. Kinda like a
one-way mailing list. The names initially on the list are those who have
expressed some interest in the client previously, and I will be sending an
initial notice to those people soon. If you wish to be added to (or removed
from) this list, please mail me at u2103724@csdvax.csd.unsw.edu.au.
