	[This is a repost because my first posting didn't seem to go
	 out ...]

	The new release of the extended file system programs (efsck and
mkefs) is available by ftp on ftp-masi.ibp.fr:/pub/linux/ALPHA/extfs and
should be available soon on tsx-11.mit.edu:/pub/linux/ALPHA/extfs.

	The changes in this new version (alpha 9) are :
	- mkefs no longer restricts the -i option to 4kb,
	- mkefs can figure the file system size (the size argument is
	  now optional), Thanks to Adam Richter <adam@soda.berkeley.edu>
	- efsck returns a status code (0 if no changes, 1 if the file system
	  was changed),
	- efsck tries to correct bad directory entries by truncating the
	  directories.

	This new release is available in different forms :
	- a patch from version alpha 8 to alpha 9 (efsprogs.p9.Z),
	- the full source and binary programs (efsprogs9.tar.Z),
	- the source programs only (efsprogs9.src.tar.Z),
	- the binary programs only (efsprogs9.bin.tar.Z).

	I hope that this new release will help in case of bad directory
entries.  I'd like people who have bad directories on an extended file system
to contact me before running this new version of efsck.  There is perhaps a
bug in the ext fs directory handking routines and I need some dumps from the
bad directories to check it.

	As usual, in case of bugs or strange behaviour of these programs or the
extended file system itself, feel free to contact me.
