The field test for MX V2.3-1 is now over; thanks again to all the field testers.

The MX V2.3-1 update kit is now available for anonymous FTP on vms.ecs.rpi.edu
and vms2.ecs.rpi.edu in directory [ANONYMOUS.MX.MX023], files MXU1023.A_Z
and MXU1023.B_Z.  The source code for the updated version is in file
MXU1023_SRC.BCK_Z in the same directory.

Sites running the SMTP support should also obtain the latest version of
NETLIB, in directory [ANONYMOUS.NETLIB] on those systems.  The updated
NETLIB should be installed before installing the MX V2.3-1 update, although
no harm will be caused if you do not.

V2.3-1 includes the following major new features:

    - direct support for Jnet V3.5.  Jnet V3.4 continues to be supported,
      but if you have V3.5, the MX-Jnet interface will use the newly
      added callable Jnet interface (aka the Jnet API).

    - local mail delivery now handled using callable MAIL instead
      of a spawned subprocess

The update also includes all of the fixes introduced as patches since MX V2.3
was released, and several other bug fixes.  The release notes in the A
save set list all of the new features and bug fixes in the update.
