Not Fidonet. A small, similar BBS net called Uni'Net back when Usenet was a pup. This was my first exposure to bulletin boards. This was before I knew there was anybody cool on a computer. I was bored and had no life and I bought a 2400 baud internal modem and stayed late after work one night and put it inside my 8088. Was I proud when I actually managed to call a board. I stayed all night at work every night reading this Uni'Net. It was a whole net full o' Matts. I didn't know it at the time. The board I had connected to was a board-like-that. I finally figured it out. Then I went on to Fido. Whee!!!!!! I still miss my XT and my Silly Little Message Reader and my Taglines and I sure remember the name Matt Giwer. There are a few other choice names I remember from that net too. I haven't called a regular old-fashioned BBS in years, but I bet they're still at it. I even had a few emails from Giwer. I can't *believe* I read and posted on that net now that I know it was only a small net filled with guys like Matt and that's not the only people out there ha ha. Like I said, this was a long time ago and I was all on my own and first people I found my way to was a net full 'o' Matts but boy does that name bring back memories!
