Then I must ask you, what on earth are *you* running for s/w?  We
accept pretty much a full feed from Pagesat, and we have one Linux PC
to suck from the modem and ungzip the batches, and a Silicon Graphics
4D/85 running cnews.

And I can tell you that that SGI is one very *busy* box.  Sar tells me
that it's completely disk-bound, and the two drives on it are running
an average backlog q of disk requests of 2-3 all the time.

In fact, at the moment, we're struggling to just keep up with the
incoming batches.  Right now we're losing :-(
