Huh?  I have ALL of this.... I use FrontDoor as my Fidonet mailer
front-end to Waffle.

Any caller to my BBS can get those Fidonet echos you refer to... as for
QWK, I've looked at it and the protocol is the worst kind of blasphemy
that has been foisted upon Fidonet in a LONG time.  All you have to
do is run Deluxe2 to see that - not to mention that that offline-reader
is the ONLY one with a character in its name not legal on "The Net"
(Fido or Usenet)...

You do seem to have it in for Waffle-people, don't you?

QWK is, in my opinion, a way for a lazy bum to get pseudo-net access
without having to succumb to the usual pain of intelligent thinking
required for a Usenet uucp connection and/or Fidonet point/node setup.
(minimal, but ever-present smiley :-)

I think net access is the right way to go - QWK should die a quick
death.  Only hope in offline readers is for a REAL offline interface
to show up.
