Hi all... Still testing different Waffle (1.65) configurations, I now want my ZyXEL 1496E to receive fax-messages. I put the ..FCLASS=6 init-String into the STATIC-file, defined extern/_system entry FAX and errorlevels - but it doesn't work at all. Immediately after incoming connection Waffle decides to drop the carrier :-( Using the "debug: modem" setting I saw an error-message just scrolling out of the screen; I saw the CONNECT FAX message the ZyXEL sent and then something like "Hayes -2" or something like that.... Any ideas? Thanx in advance, Andreas

Maybe you should try looking through the FAQ. Try the section labelled "BUGS". Bill

Thank you for helping me out of this one... :-) Although I do not
prefer setting the modem to auto-answer (S0=1) this is the only
way to get the internal fax-detect to work.
Anyway if your bbs happens to crash (or messy-dos) the modem will
still answer the phone :-(
cu,
Andreas
