With all the discussion on "/etc/magic", a question I've had for a long time came to mind. Why is the file's permissions set to "-rwxr-xr-x" on distribution? Is there any good reason why the file should have "execute" set? The usual disclaimer stuff. Internet (ARPA) : qbarnes@xenurus.Gould.COM UUCP : uunet!mcdurb!qbarnes
