Our company, in the petroleum industry, is currently investigating the implementation of SAP R/3. It looks to have a major impact on the shape and future of our computing capability. I am looking for people that would be willing to share their experience of SAP's R/3 product. Two of the major issues facing us are: - the implications of migrating from a mainframe DB/2 site to a client/server R/3 site; - the implications on current and future development initiatives: SAP is supposedly an "open", or "soft" package, but integration issues still loom ominously in some of our minds. In particular, I would be *most* interested in sites that evaluated R/3 and decided against it - (I suspect we would learn the more realistic aspects of R/3 from these sites?). I would be happy to take up any further discussion telephonically, through e-mail, or here on the newsgroups, as you prefer. Any assistance in this regard would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in anticipation. -- +------------------------------------------------+ \ Graham Bingham, grahamb@iaccess.za \ / Phone: +27 21 4037354, Fax: +27 21 4037332 / +------------------------------------------------+
