Hi out there. I am currently working on an mpeg decoder and am coming across the inevitable snags. I was wondering whether or not there are a lot of other people doing this kind of work (i.e. mpeg decoders) and if there was any interest in starting comp.compression.mpeg or perhaps an e-mail list so that we could share our problems, sources, and solutions. Also, although the XING mpeg files have been helpful, are there any sources of data that more strictly adheres to the standard? Finally, does anyone have any suggestions on efficient methods of choosing an RGB colorspace that will facilitate conversion from the compressed YCrCb data? Or even the proper matrix to use for straight MPEG YCrCb -> RGB conversion? Thanks in advance. ketan patel kpatel@postgres.berkeley.edu
