I apologize if this is the wrong section and please point me
the right way if it isn't...

I'm in the process of writing a program that will allow users
to talk to people on other machines over a network (in
realtime). Thus I need to find away to compress the audio
in real-time and was wondering if anyone could give me the
name of a book or help me personally. I have a dedicated
Motorola Digital Signal Procesor on each machine to do
some progressing (I will program it in assembler). thanks
ahead of time and please email the replies...
