I want to use a hardware key on an ms access db. therefore I need to bee
able to protect the form(s) that check the key. However my user do need
design access to all other forms. Making an mde doesn't seem the solution
because I can't ad other forms or reports that must be allowed to get in
design mode. How can I do that ?

Please mail to Rudy.truyens@pastrilux.com

1000 x thanks !

It is certainly possible, but security is a rather advanced topic.
Download, read, study, and fully understand the Access Security
Whitepaper from microsoft.com.

Also understand that if you ship your app unprotected except for this
one form, and this form's only purpose is to check for the key, some
clients may be tempted to adjust the rest of the code to bypass your
form.

And some potential clients may have a policy of having absolutely nothing to
do with any application that requires a hardware key!

1) Despite the assurances of the manufacturers to the contrary, they _do_
interfere with normal use of the parallel port.

2) As I write I have about eight applications running. Imagine the mess if
each of those applications required a hardware key!
