Can nobody in the .net universe answer this question??? I am a first time user of these 'ere newsgroups and i thought they might be somebody out there who can answer this........ I have a problem that I hope somebody out there can solve..... I am transferring data into an Access 95 database from a text file which is held on my server. I have a macro set up that does the job effectively, but I want to make it a bit more user friendly. Currently at the beginning of the Macro I have set the systems warnings to 'off', I have now written some code to carry out the import procedure, I now want to add a splash screen to show the progress of the importation. What can I use to gauge the time left i.e. the Growrate? i.e. on the click event of the import button to DoCmd.OpenForm "frmTimeIndicator" and graphically show the amount of time remaining by having a blueline on the Splash screen. I appreciate that the recordset that is produced from the standard Microsoft Application is probably well hidden deep inside one of the .dll files but if I knew where it was I might be able to start using it.... Please O please will you help if you can.... Attempts and even duff answers accepted.....(at least it's a starting point for me to have a look..!) Top stuff.. Jay jason@attraxion.force9.co.uk

You can use the SysCmd function to perform one of the following = functions: =B7 Display a progress meter or optional specified text in the status = bar. =B7 Return information about Microsoft Access and its associated files. =B7 Return the state of a specified database object to indicate whether = the object is open, is a new object, or has been changed but not saved. For example, if you are building a custom wizard that creates a new = form, you can use the SysCmd function to display a progress meter = indicating the progress of your wizard as it constructs the form. The help file has all the parameters, etc and an example. It will work = with the warnings set to off.
