Hi! I need your help. How can I know if the database that is currently opened has been opened in exclusive or shared mode? Which property of any object tells me that? Please, if you know the answer send me a e-mail to i22pinej@uco.es Thanks a lot.

In Access 2.0, you can use Security options to require that your application be open in Shared mode only. Then, whenever a user opens it, it will be in shared mode. Otherwise, if the option is set to allow users to open the application for Exclusive use, whichever user opens the application that way first will lock out other users, unless that first user specifically sets his Access environment to open mdbs shared, or uses the File/Open dialog window setting for that purpose. But with Security set for shared, the user settings do not matter. -- Pete B Rafael Pizarro <ad1piner@lucano.uco.es> wrote in article <347B22AF.CF295A66@lucano.uco.es>... > Hi! More on this issue. I have an ACCESS 2.0 database which I want several users to be able to update. I have set the database up as shared using; as per the help documentation on Sharing: View, Options, Mulituser/ODBC and Set 'Default Open mode for databases' to 'shared' The users are still reporting locking problems !!!!!!!!! What else needs to be set to share the database? Using Security options is mentioned under ACCESS 2.0 but all I see there are the permissions?
