Hi,
I am trying to connect up a DB2 database sitting on
n IBM Mainframe (VM 3270). Has anyone done this in MS-
ACCESS v2.0?

Cheers
Mitch......

This should be possible via ODBC, I don't know if the standard "other
ODBC" will connect, if not you should ask IBM if they have a driver
for it.

Hi... people do it all the time... using a DDCS gateway, you can use IBM's
CAE/DOS which comes with an ODBC driver to access the gateway to the
VM host...

Hi Mitch,

I hope we at EDT Infrastructural Services can help you with our new
product to be announced in 4Q-95:

DIAMANT (Distributet Information Access MANagement Tool).
From PC with MS Office and eg Access or Excel, DIAMANT gives access to
DB2 data in MVS.

We are looking for more pilots. If you think DIAMANT meet your
requirements pls call me or send e-mail.

For technical information contact Tony Westergren e-mail:

You can also do it with products from a number of vendors, including
StarSQL from StarWare - no gateway needed (unless your APPC connection
uses an SNA gateway like Microsoft SNA Server or NetWare for SAA) -
mail sales@starware.com, call 510-704-2000 or check out
www.starware.com).
