Can anyone out there help me find a decent report writer?

I am running NT 4.0 Workstation, working with MS-SQL Server 6.5 which
is running
under NT 4.0 Server. I am looking for a report writer that can:

1) Take information from the user in a GUI interface. (Basic ability
to enter dates,
times, names, etc is required. Bells and whistles like radio buttons
would be really
nice.)

2) Pass that information to a SQL script or (better yet) a stored SQL
procedure as
parameters.

3) Take SQL's output and insert it into a report format that I can
design.

So far I have tried Crystal Reports (Seagate Software) and Focus
(Information Builders
Inc.) Crystal is good but too limitted -- it would require that I
write external APIs
in order to do what I want, which is something I would rather avoid.
Focus theoretically has the ability to do what I want, but in practice
it is the most
awful, bug-ridden piece of crap I have ever had the displeasure to
use. I don't want
to use it.

Please help if you can -- I'm desperate!

I would very much appreciate having any replies cc'ed to my email
account

Thanks alot

Brent
