Our client is a leading firm into Benefits administration based in
Toronto and they have the following full time position

Systems Consultant/DBA

 PURPOSE: To manage the Benefits Administration system and
infrastructure based on client'ss IT strategic plan.  To perform
operations and Database administrative duties governed by established
Information Technology standards.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

"Provide customer service to all Benefits Administration clients.
"Responsible for database administration.
"Implement the strategic plans for the Benefits system and the Accerta
infrastructure.
"Complete the capacity planning and system monitoring for the Benefits
Administration System.
"Assist with project planning/management, installation and
implementation for Information Technology projects.
"Develop and maintain IT standard practices and policies.
"Upgrade and maintain System software for Oracle and Unix.
"Perform daily operations processes following IT standard practices.
 "Manage output files for the Benefits Administration system.
"Provide support to EDI transmissions and infrastructures.
"Manage co-location servers and database replication associated with
our Business Continuation Plan.
"To perform work in a safe manner and maintain workplace in a standard
condition.
"Other duties as assigned.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports to:Director, Operations and Information Technology

External Contacts: Consultants,Vendors    Support representatives

Education:College/Certification in Computer Sciences or equivalent.

Experience:
2-3 years Oracle Database Management
2-3 years Unix Operating System

Skills:		SQL language

		Oracle Forms and Reporting
								Network background - routers

		Cognos - Tools
