Dear all! Your irritation is justifiable.Actually the problem is related to data recovery. I am sorry for not making it clear. The problem is My hardisk got completely dead and somehow I could recover the datafiles but index datafiles and related control files could not be recovered. So now my question is can it possible to create new index files from the now available datafiles.? It could save lot of time and work for me otherwise I have to manually create them. regds, arj
