I cannot boot workstation using its boot PROM (the workstation boots
successfully and connects to a server when I use boot disk).
LAN SOFTWARE: Novell NetWare 3.12
LAN HARDWARE: Ethernet LAN cards
CONFIG command of the server console reports:
File server name: DGTU
IPX internal network number: 30761C00
Novell NE2000
Version 3.25, June 17, 1993
Hardware setting: I/O port 300h to 31Fh, Interrupt 5h
Node address: 00004405DE89
Frame type: ETHERNET_802.2
No board name defined
LAN protocol: IPX network 00000028
I've tried three different boot PROMs and two of them report:
'Server cannot be found'
and the third displays:
RPL-ROM-ADR: 0000 4405 D7C3
RPL-ROM-IRQ: 5
RPL-ROM-PIO: 0300
RPL-ROM-FFC: 1
^and counts here: 1,2,3,4, etc. (I was wating for 10 minutes,
but it counted and counted)
Could anybody suggest a solution?
Thank you in advance,
Andrey

Check this using the "TRACK ON" command at server console. In this case, you must use 802.3 for remote boot. The third PROM works over 802.2 and needs the RPL to be bound to logical board on your server. Best regards, --- .. <sham@sham.e-burg.ru>
