According to Data Communications magazine (1/1993), an Israeli company
(JOLT - Jerusalem Optical Link Technologies) has developed a product
that can send FDDI data at speeds of 5 mbit - 125 mbit /sec thru the
air via LED emitted beams. The price for the Optical Data Air Link
varies on speed and distance (limited to 125 yards) - the range is
$5,000 to $10,000.
