There is a very good review of hubs on the market in the November 21
issue of Data Communications magazine (p. 56). For our part we have
standardized on the Synoptics product line. They have the flexibilty to
"daisy-chain" hubs, eliminating the need to make a large up front
investment in a chassis to provide expansion capability.
The review sites both Cabletron and Synoptics as very good vendors. The
tested six hub vendors.
