Does anyone know of any references to attempts to model the toplogy of real networks, where lots of nodes are leaves? The sort of thing I'm talking about is randomly distributing N nodes across a grid and then connecting them somehow to form something that looks like a real-life network (e.g. Internet maps). I'm aware of Waxman's work (Journal Selected Areas in Communication, Dec 1988) and a few others. I can't believe that no-one else is working on this! Mail me and I'll summarise. -Matt -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Matt Doar, jmsd@cl.cam.ac.uk Tel: +44 223 334618 University of Cambridge Computer Laboratory New Museums Site, Pembroke Street, Cambridge CB2 3QG, England "... and life to me is mystery, unknown ships on uncharted seas." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
