Help! Can't boot *old* 3Com NetBuilder

Hi, I've got an old, original NetBuilder router that I bought for home use. However, it seems to have very old ROMs in it which are limiting how I can boot it. The PROM rev is "I". It is unable to read DOS-formatted floppies, so I cannot boot it that way. And over the network, it tries to use XNS to boot! I have no idea how to handle this; I can't seem to find a free XNS boot server implementation anywhere. I've been able to boot it from floppy, but only using old, OLD NetBuilder software... version 5.1!! I'd really like to be able to run 7.x or 8.x, if this old thing is still supported at those levels. But creating floppies is easy: go to 3com an get the dos-program which can copy netbuilder floppies to imagefiles on dos or back. I forgot the name of this program but i know it is there. You are in luck that you have prom rev I which supports hd floppies. I only have prom rev H which supports only dd floppies on which only fits bridging software, not routing software. Sure that i would like to have a rev I prom or prom-image but i don't know the price or how to get it.... : I've been able to boot it from floppy, but only using old, OLD : NetBuilder software... version 5.1!!
