Manners, social customs, morals and dating customs are sometimes not talked about in the popular press, yet, they are at times, despite how old fashioned they may seem, useful. You're just expected to know them. At least most (or maybe some, to give John his due) sites that use MAPS/ORBS to block, will _tell_ people about it. Email behavior is similar. For example, is some forums (I'd say all, but I'm weird), it is bad form to send html. Yet people do. You seem to think that if ORBS wanted coverage on CNN, they could just call them up and have CNN do an hour long segment that would cover these topics, so that people may be educated. I think it might be good if they did this sort of thing, but, alas the cynic in me says that we don't have a fighting chance of it happening. Feel free to contact your news media and try and get them to cover it. Tell us if it worked. My news media (/. and ba.internet) I think has had a few things in the past on this topic. Maybe you are reading the wrong news source? Is that our fault, or yours? :-) And yes, of course the ends justify the means, otherwise, we wouldn't do it, duh.
