Back on Sat, 09 Dec 2000 05:23:59 GMT, while hiding out in ba.internet,Barry@netbox.com (Barry Twycross) surprised everyone by saying: >In article <porieux-FC4C22.23201407122000@news.smateo1.sfba.home.com>, Sal >Orlando <porieux@_N0-SpAM_sirius.com> wrote: > >>Anyone know anywhere else to turn for relialbe POP service? > >If you want to pay for it, I'd highly recommend Netbox. I've been using >Netbox <http://www.netbox.com> since 95, I use it for forwarding and my >wife uses their POP service. > netbox looks pretty good (except for the $25 signup fee). How reliable are they? Any unscheduled down time? Do they respond to email? Provide status reports? I'm always on the lookout for "the perfect" email account. I don't use my ISP at all anymore (Telocity). Not only does their email suck, but they don't respond at all to email nor do they publish any kind of status (did I mention that they suck?). I've been using NetAddress (usa.net) for several years, and have some free POP accounts from them via American Express (Amexmail); they have had occasional outages, and they also don't respond to email very well, other than automated responses that almost are on the same subject, but don't really answer your question. Still, they're pretty good usually, and cheap or free if you have an American Express card. And they have pretty good filtering, so I get no spam. -- Marty Fried * mjf.public@usa.net Make me one with everything. -Zen monk to the hotdog vendor
