FWIW, it's my understanding that many (perhaps most or all) of the old "Class A" network number ranges are in the process of being retired so they can (potentially) be used for other purposes. > IANA (RESERVED-6) Netblock: 10.0.0.0 This network number range, of course, used to belong to the old ARPANET, but it is now reserved for private (non-Internet-connected) networks. > Stanford University (NET-SU-NET-TEMP) Netblock: 36.0.0.0 Stanford is systematically retiring this network number range and moving systems onto a series of "Class B" networks. I believe they expect to be done moving everyone off the "36" network in the next year or two. Rich Wales richw@webcom.com http://www.webcom.com/richw/
