Here is how I;ve seen it work in other companys where the marketing/sales/PR
people have no clue about what they are being told:

Ovserve that every month some number of installations get done.
Each month the ones that got done are noted as being "on schedule".
The rest are moved out a month.  When the new date arrives repeat.

This means your "on schedule" % keeps rising (the concept of "not on schedule"
does not exist in any Dilbertized culture).  Upper management thinks this is 
just marvey.  Everybody (except the potential customers) is happy because 
the numbers look good.

Remember: Sadistics are your friend. *8^))
