Hmmm, if you gotta ask... :) comp.home.automation is a good place to start. There are constant discussions of interior wiring, both before and after a house is constructued. I live in a 2 story house with a finished basement, and have had to run cable through *lots* of walls, cubbyholes, plenums, etc. I've got a Merlin Plus phone switch (4-pair per extension, cable hog!), Appletalk and single-lines/fax (cat-3), plus video and cable modems (RG-6 quad-shield for video/data cable), and I've wired just about every room in the house (including bathrooms), so I know the *insides* of the house better probably then the builders. The real trick is getting between floors - sometimes that means going form the basement to the house attic, just to wire the 2nd floor. The trick is to get to know the 'cubby-holes', such as the attic, basement, crawlspaces, etc. Just be patient, find the proper runs, install good outlet boxes to the studs, do *NOT* under *ANY* circumstances run high (power) and low (data) voltage cable together, and it'll all work out.
